After three days of grueling competition, Catherine Rose Pretorius was ceremoniously crowned as Junior Miss Rodeo Kentucky. Under this title, she will represent Miss Rodeo Kentucky, Inc., the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), agriculture and the Western lifestyle in 2021.

Catherine is the 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Pretorius, residing in Louisville, Kentucky. She is currently a home-schooled 7th grader. Outside of her studies, Catherine enjoys scouting with the American Heritage Girls. She also volunteers her time to Home of the Innocents, Crusade for Children and The Family Scholar House.

Catherine is an avid young horsewoman who competes in multiple events; however, her focus is primarily on barrel racing. She has qualified and placed top ten at the Kentucky State 4H Horse Show, and was Diamondback 4H Club’s Contesting High Point Rider in 2017.

During her year of service, Catherine hopes to continue her philanthropic work through various volunteer opportunities, while representing the Miss Rodeo Kentucky organization and the Western lifestyle. The entire Miss Rodeo Kentucky Committee is excited to have Catherine on board as Junior Miss Rodeo Kentucky in 2021.
